The generosity of everyone has resulted in the sum of £1076 raised by the Bus Pass Marathon. Thank you all so much.
We plan to decorate the men’s toilets in January and the Supper Room carpet has been thoroughly cleaned.
A Happy Christmas to all our supporters and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Lots of different events are taking place in the hall in 2014 so watch our for adveertisements!
Village Hall Secretary, Neil Russell, is planning a ‘coast to coast bus pass marathon’. He will attempt to get from Saltburn on Sea to Workington in one day, using only his free bus pass. This will involve using a series of local buses.
He will be hoping to raise money by sponsorship and more details will be available in due course.
The renovation of the ground floor toilets has been completed.
Unfortunately, we discovered that the flat roof above the toilets, and which extends over the main hall, has been letting in water for some time. Minor repairs have been attempted over the years but the problem is now urgent. A contractor has been given and work will begin very soon. It will be a relief to have the hall sound for the winter.
Use of the hall continues to increase and we want to encourage local residents and organisations to make use of this marvellous facility.
